You did it. You grew and gave birth to a human. You’ve been bonding, cuddling, changing, feeding, and trying to find your new normal. And now here you are, thinking about getting started or getting back into working out.  Press the pause button on that jog, maybe hold off on the weights; before you begin any workout regimen, come hang out with Mommy+Baby Fit! Moms must have clearance for exercise from their doctor.

Postpartum Group Class Series

Our small group class of newer mommas is designed to re-establish and rehabilitate your core and strengthen those baby-carrying muscles. It will encourage safe continued healing after birth and set up a solid foundation for getting back into your workout routine. Bring your baby! Train with other Mommas just like you!

Postpartum Personal Training

Come train safely in a warm, welcoming environment following a training plan tailored specifically for your needs and your goals. Our 60-min long postpartum personal training sessions emphasize rehabilitation of the core before returning to regular exercise.

Postpartum Personal Training can be done 1-on-1 or in small group of up to 3 mommas at a time at a reduced price. Babies are welcome and moms are encouraged to provide care and attention to them throughout class. Moms must have clearance for exercise from their doctor.

Questions & Answers:

 

What can I expect from a typical session?

Each 1-hour session will include posture and breath work, specific warm ups, joint mobilization work, individual strength and conditioning components, accessory work and mindset practices.

 

How is this different from other postpartum offerings like pilates or yoga?

This is a strength and conditioning program with roots in the CrossFit methodology.  We will use rehabilitative exercises to restore dysfunction and build foundational strength in the pelvic floor, diaphragm, hips, shoulders, and upper back, among others. This is an actively coached class where participants can expect to receive high levels of individual instruction, and feedback. It will look and feel a lot like Personal Training for postpartum women.

At the end of each 4 Week Series Mommas who want to continue their progress can sign up for the next series. For Moms electing to continue on with multiple series, the level of difficulty also steadily increase. We expect your level of fitness to grow and grow throughout your time training with us!

The coach will email a brief questionnaire to mommas prior to the series start date. She will use the information to design each class and generate modifications based on individual starting points.

 

What if I just had a baby 9 years ago?

Anyone who has ever had a baby is in the postpartum phase of her life. While the whole first year is generally thought of as the “postpartum phase”, as long as your doctor says that it’s ok to return to or start exercise you are welcome to attend.

 

Can I bring my baby?

YES. Your baby can remain in your stroller, hang out in a walker or on their blanket. Feel free to feed, change, or comfort your baby as much as you need to!

 

Who is the coach?

Meredyth is a CrossFit Level 1 Coach, USAW Olympic Lifting Coach, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) and Behavior Analyst. She has been coaching and teaching for over 6 years. Besides being a Momma, she thinks teaching and empowering others in health and fitness is the best job on the planet.
